舞台八幡神社

Miyagi

Built in 1638, the Stage Eight-Harmonious Shrine is a sacred Shinto site located in the city of Ishinomaki in Miyagi Prefecture. It was constructed on the site where a miracle occurred during the construction of the nearby Mikawashiro Castle, where a stage appeared to magically elevate itself to the required height, indicating the presence of the divine kami. This iconic shrine is dedicated to the Enma Daijin, god of the underworld and judge of the dead, with secondary enshrinement of the Inari Okami and the Ōkunitama Hachiman.
