Miyagi

Tōnan-jinja is a Shinto shrine located in the town of Tōnan, Miyagi Prefecture, on the northeastern coast of Honshu, Japan's largest island. Dedicated to the deity Ise-no-Mikoto, it is believed to have been founded during the Heian period (794-1185 CE). As one of the oldest shrines in the Tohoku region, Tōnan-jinja has played a significant role in local history and culture.
