The Tsuruoka Shrine, also known as the Child Raising God Shrine, is a Shinto shrine located in Tsuruoka City, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. The shrine is dedicated to the kami of child-rearing and fertility. According to legend, the shrine was established in 718 CE to honor the birth of Prince Shotoku, a son of Emperor Tenmu, who would go on to become one of Japan's most influential emperors.
