大日霊神社

Miyagi

The Ōdayūrei-jinja Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in the city of Kesennuma, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. Dedicated to the deity Hachiman, the shrine is situated on the banks of the Senzakugahara River and is famous for its stunning autumn foliage. The shrine's main hall is adorned with a vermilion torii gate and features a beautiful garden filled with traditional Japanese trees.

文化的背景

The shrine is famous for its annual Hachiman Festival (Hachiman Matsuri), which takes place in late April. During this festival, devotees offer prayers to Hachiman, the god of war and patron deity of the navy, as well as other kami associated with the shrine.

歴史

The shrine was rebuilt after being destroyed by the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011.
