Located in the scenic town of Nikkō, Tochigi Prefecture, Star Shrine (Hoshimiyajō) is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the kami of stars and celestial bodies. The shrine's name is derived from its location near the old astronomical observatory, which was built in 1645 during the Edo period. Today, visitors can still see the remains of this ancient observatory on the grounds of the shrine.
