Shizuoka

Located in the city of Fujieda, Shizuoka Prefecture, Eight Horseshoe Shrine is one of Japan's most famous Shinto shrines, dedicated to the god of war and prosperity, Hachiman. The shrine's main hall was built in 1624 during the Edo period, and its unique design features a double-horizondal layout with eight gates (hishinmon). Eight Horseshoe Shrine is also known for its distinctive sound-emitting bells that produce a deep, resonant sound when rung.

The shrine is also associated with the legend of Minamoto no Yoshitsune, a famous warlord who was said to have built the original shrine.
