胡子神社

Shimane

Located in the town of Yata in Shimane Prefecture, Izumo Taisha is one of Japan's most famous Shinto shrines dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu and her grandson Susanoo, but also contains a shrine for Inari Okami with a large array of fox statues. It was built during the 8th century and has undergone many renovations and restorations over the centuries, including significant changes made in the Heian period. The shrine is known for its extensive grounds that include several buildings such as the haiden, torii gate, and the grand shrine hall.
