新宮神社

Shimane

New Miyako Shrine, located in the city of Matsue, Shimane Prefecture, is one of Japan's most famous and well-preserved Edo-period shrines. Dedicated to the sea goddess Yatagarasu, the shrine is situated on a scenic lake shore and features traditional Japanese architecture with a unique blend of old and new elements. The shrine complex includes several smaller shrines and statues dedicated to various kami, including Inari Okami, the patron deity of commerce and industry.

文化的背景

歴史

The shrine was originally constructed in 1615 during the Edo period, but its current form was rebuilt after a fire in 1898.
