Located in Iwate Prefecture, Ōtsu Kannon-gū is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the Sea Goddess Amaterasu and Tsukiyomi, but most notably Ōtsu Kannon-gū's main deity is Kompira-san who was enshrined by the Hōjō clan, however, the shrine is most famously associated with Kofuku no Kami , who is a Shinto deity believed to have control over the forest and wild animals of the region. The shrine is known for its traditional architecture, including the main hall's wooden roof and the large stone foundation that indicates a sacred boundary.
