Located in the heart of Osaka, Pōta Jinja Shrine is a revered Shinto temple dedicated to the kami of fishermen and sailors, as well as the god of prosperity and good fortune. The shrine's name, Pōta, is said to be derived from the Buddhist monk who originally built the temple, Enchin, in 718 CE. Over time, the shrine has undergone numerous renovations and expansions, with its current structure dating back to the 17th century.
