愛宛神社は岡山県の重要文化財であり、天台宗の創始者である空海が本尊である愛宛菩薩を祀る神社です。神社の名称が愛宛に変化したのは、1981年に現在の名称に変更されました。そのためにも、現在の神社は日本の歴史において重要な役割を果たしています。愛宛神社は、太陽、水、緑などの象徴である三水三火三木（さっすいさんきく）を祀ります。 この神社では、春と夏に大規模な祭りが催されます。『愛宛まつり』は、4月1日に始まり、6月15日に終わるまで、神社周辺でさまざまな芸能や料理などを楽しむことができます。神社内の観音菩薩の像の前には、大きな木が植えられています。この木は、空海がこの地に到着したときに伐採された木です。 愛宛神社は岡山県における主要な天台宗寺院であり、多くの歴史的文書や遺物が保存されています。神社の境内には、かつての太鼓台があります。この太鼓台は、1978年に造成されました。現在、この神社では一般公開されている。 愛宛神社の本尊である空海は、天台宗の創始者として重要な存在ですが、その後世を支えているのは、かつての太鼓台の守護神として祀られている、太鼓（さくら）です。太鼓は、神社の中心にある神門柱の中でも最も高く位置するものです。 愛宛神社では、太鼓が音楽活動の原点であると信じられています。また、今年は新型コロナウイルスによる影響で初めて祭りが中止となりました。2023年は新型コロナの影響を受けた第3回の「愛宛まつり」から最初の復活版を迎えます。 この神社では、太鼓（さくら）が中心となる宗教的活動を取り組んでいます。彼らは現在も、神社内や周辺に広範囲にわたって活動しています。
